Creeks LAX Season Postponed

Dear Parents and Coaches,

Due to the impact of COVID-19, the Creek Youth Lacrosse season is being postponed. We will continue to communicate as the situation evolves and unfolds, but here is what the Board has decided for the time being:

  • Creeks Youth Lacrosse will follow all St. Johns County decisions relating to postponing events and venue closures.
  • All Creeks Youth Lacrosse practices and games are suspended until at least April 1, 2020.
  • We will continue to communicate as the situation evolves and unfolds. The hope is to continue the season, and, if possible, reschedule the games, but given the unprecedented nature of the COVID-19 situation, we cannot be certain.
  • The Jamboree is currently scheduled for April 25 & 26, with a rain date held for May 2 & 3. Please hold both of those weekends for the Jamboree and tentative make-up games.
  • For those of you involved with both Boys and Girls Lacrosse: Boys lacrosse is governed by NFYLL,  Girls lacrosse is governed by NEFGYLL, and that is the reason for any differences between the two. Again, Creeks Youth Lacrosse will follow all Saint Johns County mandates relating to postponing events or venue closures.

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work through the challenges of COVID-19. We will continue to communicate new information as it becomes available.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Creeks Youth Lacrosse Board

CREEKS YOUTH LACROSSE

Creeks Youth Lacrosse Program is a not-for-profit recreational and travel club program focused on promoting and organizing the play of lacrosse for boys & girls, from kindergarten through middle school, at all levels of core competencies and skill levels. We offer multiple lacrosse offerings throughout the year, but our primary season, Spring (Feb. - May), brings many newcomers, at all age levels (K - 8th), that join us for their first season of lacrosse. So, if your son or daughter has never played before, he or she will not be alone in trying lacrosse for the first time.

While we always intend to field competitive teams and play well, we pride ourselves on developing players for longevity in the game of lacrosse by teaching the core fundamentals of the game and instilling in our players a love for the game.  The transition from "newbie" at the beginning of the season to what could be called a "lacrosse player" at the end of a season is impressive.  Hopefully, we will be able to count your son or daughter in for that transition!

Please note that the following is required, in addition to our general registration fee, in order to register with Creeks Lacrosse...

  • All participants in Creeks Youth Lacrosse (Boys & Girls) must have a current and valid US Lacrosse membership ($30 yr. / player; this is in addition to our registration fee).
  • US Lacrosse membership provides the umbrella insurance coverage for our participants. Without a US Lacrosse number, you cannot complete the online registration process.

Creeks Lacrosse Boys and 8U Girls participates in the North Florida Youth Lacrosse League, which consists of Creeks, Ponte Vedra, Fleming Island, Villages, and St. Johns PAL.
